Subject: The Old Fashion Fourth of July Celebration At Fort Missoula
Perry Francis asked that I write this quick note about the happenings at the Museum this Sunday.
Missoula County was a little slow at making plans for the 4th this year, so much of the show will be around steam power sawmill, steam engines, Hit-N-Miss Engines, Locomotive and the live equipment of the Forestry Interpretive Area on the south side of the tracks at the Museum. 3000 to 7000 spectators have paid to come in the past, but we have no Idea how many will show this year because it’s FREE for the first time.
To complement the historical equipment, members of the Hellgate Chapter have displayed their vehicles in the past. We are extending this offer again to the Honkers this year
to display their vintage autos and trucks during the Celebration. If anyone is interested, all you have to do is just show up and park yourself. This is informal so no fees, prizes or management. I will be busy with the steam engines. Good opportunity to meet people that don’t normally go to car shows. Hope you can make it!
DATE Fourth of July
TIME: 10am – 4pm or whenever you feel like it
ENTRY: Free
REGISTRATION: None
LOCATION: Near Fort Missoula Lookout Tower on the grass north of the tower between the hill and the walkway. Park yourself.
Thanks,
